Washed Out Hopes

Pakistan this year experienced a major devastation  that killed at least 1,600 and left some 4 million homeless. This was such a massive destruction that this calamity has surpassed the humanitarian aid scope of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, Pakistan's 2005 earthquake and the 2010 Haiti quake.Stagnant water and homelessness raise the risk for water-borne diseases, and the reports issued by UN show the first cholera cases springing up in the wake of the flooding. Other concerns are typhoid fever, hepatitis A and E, malaria and dengue, and leptospirosis.People are dieing daily of starvation and hunger.Its even so that the basic amenities are not being provided to them leaving them at the mercy of God.

Pakistani woman killed in Italy over arranged marriage

A Pakistani woman has died in Italy after her husband beat her with a brick for opposing the arranged marriage of her daughter, triggering a wave of outrage among Italian politicians on Monday.
The daughter, 20-year-old Nosheen Butt, was hospitalized with a cranial trauma and a broken arm after her 19-year-old brother hit her with a stick in the courtyard of their building in Novi, near the northern city of Modena. According to Modena prosecutors' initial results, the father Ahmad Khan Butt, a 53-year-old construction worker, threw his wife to the ground and beat her with a brick while the brother Umair assaulted his sister."The victim did not want her daughter to have an unhappy relationship like the one that had been forced on her," as the mother and daughter shared the same point of view.
This could be called a 'cultural' homicide because in addition to domestic aggression there is the issue of the ethnicity that may have aggravated the crime.
 Livia Turco, a senior politician in the Democrats of the Left main opposition party, condemned "arranged marriages and violence against women" on the alleged reason of "ethnic traditions" that she annoyingly said as "medieval practices".

Name calling....Whatever! =D

Name calling is one such practice which we see and hear in all age group, be it at a school or field, or even in an organization. Seen as a mockery, it not only makes the other person miserable but also his mental and physical peace is hampered.

 Projection of  unhappiness is on to you and if you show how you feel and also allow yourself to be upset, then its your fault. 

This is a key element to understand, that name-callers will usually feel worse if you do not react to their name-calling. They will therefore be much quicker to stop such behavior than if you get visibly upset. 

Threfore, if somebody calls you with wierd names..then just say..All is Well! :D

Virtual Experiences

We are noticing that Facebook is gaining popularity not only among teenagers but adults as well. Amazing fact is that Facebook did not even exist until 2004.It was later when three college students created it to allow other students to network and meet each other, and it has caught on with young people around the world. Although it allows people to meet each other in person to communicate, to create new relationships and friendships on the same hand people are free to be someone they aren't. Peer review doesn't exist. One cannot literally touch anyone--not even by a smile, to say nothing of a handshake. No one is accountable to anyone else. Thus, Facebook is kind of a "fantasy land" where people can make up anything they want to command attention, they can live an alternative life if they choose, and no one is the wiser.

Protests in Sindh against bombings at Shrine

Demonstrations and rallies were held in various cities in the interior parts of Sindh to mark protest against suicide bombings at Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine.
A rally taken out by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan and Sunni Tehreek reached Ghanta Ghar chowk after marching through different roads and streets. The participants holding placards chanted slogans against the ‘Poor’ security arrangements at the shrine by the Administration.
In Larkana, Political and Civil Organization also staged a rally. The participants said that the government had failed in providing security at the Karachi’s Mazar.

Sunni Tehreek also staged demonstrations in Khairpur and Khairpur.

Its said that pictures are better communicators then words.We notice that the street hawkers and pan cabins etc have very catchy names and tag lines written on their push carts.It is very surprising to note that although these hawker fellows are not MBAs in Marketing or don't have a foreign degree in Advertising still they have the tactics and know the gimmicks which are apt to entice maximum footfall.
